HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - A heavily traveled road in Henrico County is back open Wednesday after a water main break caused it to close for about a day.
Officials said a contractor hit the water main, causing the break, around 12:45 Tuesday.
As a result, Quioccasin Road was closed in both directions near Gayton and Gaskins roads until it reopened Wednesday afternoon.
Traffic was rerouted onto Gayton and Gaskins. Crews said water service to Gayton Crossing Shopping Center was disrupted, but was restored Tuesday afternoon.
The Department of Public Utilities said the main was repaired and that crews also repaired and repaved the road Wednesday.
