WESTCHESTER, Calif. – A 4-year-old girl was pronounced dead after officials said she was found hanging in a closet Thursday in her Westchester home.
KTLA reported that her family found her around 11:30 a.m. and tried to administer CPR after calling 911.
She was pronounced dead after emergency workers took her to the hospital, KTLA reported.
An autopsy is expected to be performed Friday to determine the child’s cause of death.
Police said they do not suspect foul play and the child’s death appears to have been an accident that occurred while she was unsupervised.
The department’s Abused Child Unit is also investigating the case.
