TRAFFIC ALERT: I-95 north still slow going after emergency repairs

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – VDOT says traffic is still backed up for seven miles on I-95 northbound.

The good news is that crews have completed emergency bridge repairs, which had closed the left and center lanes on I-95 north at the Lombardy Street bridge (mile marker 77) for part of Friday afternoon.

Still, drivers should use alternate routes to avoid the jam.

For example, I-95 north through traffic can take I-295 north at mile marker 46 in Prince George County to avoid delays.

Local traffic can use the Downtown Expressway (toll) at mile marker 74A to I-195 or Route 1/301 north to avoid the area.
