FORT BRAGG, NC (WTKR) – Officials said two soldiers from Fort Bragg, North Carolina were killed in Afghanistan earlier this week.
The Department of Defense said 25-year-old Staff Sergeant Jordan Bear and 19-year-old Private First Class Payton Jones, both assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division, were killed Thursday during deadly protests at a US base in Afghanistan.
The protests are believed to be over the burning of Qur’ans by US and NATO troops.
