CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WTVR)- A Chesterfield Police Officer has been taken to the hospital after being injured while directing traffic Sunday afternoon.
Sgt. Jim Profita with the department tells us the officer was directing traffic on Huguenot Rd. in the northern part of the county when two vehicles collided. One of those cars struck the officer.
The officer has been transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
