RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – The Virginia man who shot his 101-year-old grandmother during a family shoot-out last summer will spend five years in prison.
A judge sentenced Kevin McCray, 36, to 48 years in prison, then suspended all but five years.
McCray was charged with the attempted murder of his brother Stephen Taggart and malicious wounding of his grandmother, Naomi Taggart, plus five other firearms charges.
Last summer McCray and Stephen Taggart got into a fight over money. During the fight, McCray opened fire in his grandmother’s home, shooting at his brother, but hitting his grandmother.
