RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Local trombonist Reggie Pace has been touring with the up-and-coming indie-folk band Bon Iver, who won as Best New Artist at the 54th Grammy’s.

The band recently played on Saturday Night Live. [See video of performance below]

When not on tour with Bon Iver, Pace plays in the local favorite No BS Brass Band.

Richmond now has another Grammy connection, in addition to nearby Tappahannock native Chris Brown, whose “Fame,” won for best R&B album.

For Brown, the award caps off a rocky comeback year for one of pop`s most talked-about people.

He also performed at tonight’s show, his first Grammy performance since he was arrested for beating ex-girlfriend and singer Rihanna, who also performed at the Grammys.

Chris Brown’s next hearing for his assault charge is in July. Last week, a Los Angeles judge ruled that despite his good behavior, Brown needs to continue to finish out his five-year probation sentence.
