Lee Monument vandalized

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Expect to see a clean up crew at the Robert E. Lee Monument at Allen St. and Monument Ave. after the statue was vandalized overnight.

State Capitol Police said one of their officers noticed the graffiti while on patrol around 5:20 a.m. Saturday morning and reported it.

The word “Five-O” was spray painted on the base of the structure.

The graffiti is expected to be removed Saturday afternoon.

No arrests have been made.
