RICHMOND, Va. — There is so much to see and do in central Virginia! Every Tuesday, members of the Virginia This Morning team are sharing a list of six of their favorite things.

The topic changes, but the goal remains the same — to inspire you to try something new!

Who doesn’t love a good movie? Normally, we look forward to hitting the theater each summer for big releases. Things are certainly different this year, so we thought we’d take a look back at some of our favorite movies that were a smash at the box office in the past. Did your go-to make the list?

Jaws (1975)

Jessica picked this terrifying thriller, which was the original blockbuster. She says she’s fully willing to never be comfortable swimming in the deep end of the pool after seeing this movie!

2. Bill Bevins, co-host

Cast Away (2000)

Tom Hanks stars in this smash. Cast Away was released just before Christmas in 2000.

3. Matt McClain, creative services director

Jurassic Park (1993)

Matt has loved this movie since its 1993 release – especially for its profound advancements in filmmaking.

Men in Black (1997)

Elijah picked the original Men in Black as his favorite blockbuster hit. He says, with Will Smith’s hilarity plus Tommy Lee Jones’ deadpan delivery plus aliens, what else could you need?! Besides sugar…more…MORE!

5. Evanne Armour, associate producer

Grease (1978)

Evanne is throwing it way back to 1978 for her top pick this week, Grease! The classic musical romantic comedy features Danny Zuko (John Travolta) and Sandy Olsson (Olivia Newton-John) and their adventures at Rydell High School.

6. Andrias White Murdaugh, guest manager & guest co-host

Shrek (2001)

For her top pick, Andrias selected this animated comedy film full of fairytale fun.
