RICHMOND, Va. - Fatal drug overdoses have been the leading cause of unnatural deaths in Virginia since 2013. Nearly 61% of people ages 12 or older who misuse or abuse prescription drugs receive them from family and friends. Chesterfield County recently started the Medicine Takeback campaign to reduce these statistics. Today, Allyson Butler from Chesterfield County Prevention Services and Lt. Tim Kehoe of the Chesterfield County Police Department visited us to talk about the Medicine Takeback Program. Medicine Takeback will be held at Wegmans at 12501 Stone Village Way in Midlothian from 10 am- 2 pm on Saturday, April 25.
