Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax will be filing to run for governor of Virginia sometime this week.

He will be holding a campaign kickoff event in Fairfax County on Saturday, September 12 at 11 a.m.

The event will be at the Historic Fairfax County Courthouse.

Fairfax is being endorsed by the current 14th Lord Fairfax, his staff said.

He will also be in Hampton at Ft. Monroe on Sunday, September 13 at 3 p.m.

Fairfax will be endorsed by Robert E. Lee’s descendant in Hampton, his staff said.

Back in DecemberNews 3 reported Fairfax was eyeing at a run for Governor of Virginia in 2021.

During his time as lieutenant governor, he faced allegations of sexual assault from two women, Meredith Watson and Vanessa Tyson. Fairfax has denied the allegations, and sued CBS for defamation after it aired interviews with both women.
