STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. -- The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) warned drivers Monday about "major delays" on Interstate 95 in Stafford County.
"An overturned tractor-trailer carrying gravel has closed all northbound lanes at Exit 143 (Garrisonville Road), and traffic is intermittently passing scene on the shoulder," a VDOT spokesperson wrote in an email. "I-95 motorists passing through the Fredericksburg area to destinations to the north are encouraged to use alternate routes, including using I-95 Exit 104 (Carmel Church) to Route 207 to Route 301 northbound."
