HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- The Henrico husband charged with killing his wife in a far West End home Monday morning, made his first appearance in court Tuesday. Michael Barron, 53, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of his wife, 64-year-old Mui Ung Barron.
Barron was handcuffed inside the jail when he appeared in court via video Tuesday morning.
He was granted no bond, but was given a court-appointed attorney.
Police responded to the Barron's Brookwater Drive home, off Pump Road, Monday at about 7 a.m.
When officers arrived, they found Mui Ung Barron dead inside the house.
She was found in an upstairs room with obvious signs of trauma, Crime Insider sources told Jon Burkett. Those same sources told Burkett that Michael Barron had called 911.
Mui Ung Barron was an assistant teacher at Richmond Montessori School.
“Our community is heartbroken by this loss and she will be greatly missed," a school spokesperson wrote in an email to CBS 6. "Mui was a kind and dedicated educator and we will honor her contributions and memories as a community in the weeks to come.”
This is a developing story.
