CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- A driver was killed Monday after striking a tree in a single vehicle crash in Chesterfield County.
The crash occurred in the westbound lanes of Ironbridge Rd at the Route 288 overpass around 9:04 p.m.
Police said the driver of a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu was driving westbound on Ironbridge Rd prior to running off the left side of the roadway into the median.
The vehicle over-corrected and crossed all westbound lanes before striking a tree.
The driver was pronounced deceased on scene.
