CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. β Chesterfield officers are investigating a fatal crash between a vehicle and an electric scooter near Chesterfield Towne Center.
They said it happened at the intersection of Midlothian Turnpike (Route 60) and Branchway Road at approximately 9:22 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2026.
"Officers arrived on scene and located an unresponsive adult female in the roadway," a Chesterfield police spokesperson said. "Officers immediately rendered aid until rescue personnel arrived. The female was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries and would later be pronounced deceased."
The victimβs name has not yet been released.
Police believe the driver struck the electric scooter while both were in the travel lanes of Route 60. The driver of the vehicle was not hurt according to police, and is cooperating with the investigation.
