CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. -- An “Armed and dangerous” man who was wanted after a domestic situation in Caroline County has been arrested in Maryland.
Ricky A. Heinbaugh, Jr. was apprehended during the early morning hours Friday in La Plata, Maryland.
The domestic incident occurred Thursday morning in the Caroline Pines neighborhood. Additional details have not been released.
Officials say they placed the elementary school on lockdown. The lockdown was lifted once the students involved in the situation were found to be safe, official said.
Caroline investigators were assisted by the Charles County Maryland Sheriff’s Office and the United States Marshals Service in Heinbaugh’s arrest.
The 27-year-old is being held without bail in Charles County, Maryland and awaiting extradition to Caroline County.
