CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, some daycares have stepped up to help essential and frontline workers who have children.

In the latest edition of CBS 6 gives, sports anchor Sean Robertson made a visit to The Goddard School in Chesterfield to thank the staff for their hard work.

"We found out that they were one of, if not the only daycare in our area that actually stayed open through the pandemic since its beginning, back in March. So what we want to do is come down here and recognize the staff for what they have done to the community," said Robertson.

"You guys have done such a great service in our community, with your staff, you know, giving a lot of care to the children of the frontline services and also essential workers who desperately needed that during this time."

So, Robertson surprised the director of the school with some gift cards to you on the staff.

"We want to give you this gift card. We want you to treat your staff to breakfast or lunch or whatever you want to do," he added.
