RICHMOND, Va. -- With the holiday season approaching, CBS 6 decided to pay a visit to a local barbershop and pay for some haircuts for the Richmond community.

We went to Ronncutts Barbershop, located at 1333 West Broad Street, for the special surprise.

CBS 6 anchor Rob Desir, with the help of Union Bank and Trust, paid for several free haircuts in the latest edition of CBS 6 Gives.

“At CBS 6 we like to do something positive for the community every now and then. Since this is where I get my haircut,” Rob said to the customers inside Ronncutts. “We thought we would come in here and bless some of you guys. If you don’t mind, we would love to pay for your haircuts today.”

One customer said the free haircut was a perfect birthday present as he was celebrating his special day.

Another gentleman said that the surprise came at a perfect time because the money he saved on his haircut will allow him to buy his child an extra toy while Christmas shopping.

“Especially in this economy… you have kids… You know Christmas coming up. Sometimes dad needs a little help,” he said. That’s a blessing. That money can go towards a toy.”
