RICHMOND, Va. - In honor of African American Music Appreciation month, L. Roi Boyd and Yemaja Jubilee from “Cultural Libations,” stop by the studio to talk about their latest offering, “Blues Gal: A Celebration of the Women and the Music of the Blues.” The musical will feature local performers, and will touch on the public and private lives of five Pioneers in the Blues genre: Ma Rainey, Bessie Smith, Sippie Wallace, Big Mama Thornton, and Bonnie Raitt.
