RICHMOND, Va. — Several local breweries have Mother’s Day specials planned. If you’re looking for a chance to really hang out with mom, then spend the afternoon at one of these fine establishments.

Buskey Cider will offer roses to the first 100 moms and if you buy her first pint, the second one is on Buskey. The cidery, which opened last month, is located in Scott’s Addition, at 2910 W. Leigh Street. Read more about the venue, here.

Center of the Universe will prepare brunch for mom, and in addition to beer they will have MOMosas.  There will be live music, and a special brunch prepared by Kava Kava Gourmet food truck. To give mom the ultimate brewery day experience, a ticket can be purchased in advance, or the day of, for $20. The ticket price includes a brunch plate (with several options from which to choose), a custom glass, an adult beverage, and access to Mom’s Time Out — for mom’s only. The area will have snacks, a server bringing snacks and a big HDTV screening the classics.   Center of the Universe is located at 11293 Air Park Road, in Ashland.

Legend Craft Brewing will have food and drink specials, still to be determined. Check out Facebook closer to the day. Enjoy brews and a view at the city’s oldest brewery in operation.  Located at 321 West 7th Street Richmond.

Strangeways, Sweet Southern Mother’s Day event will feature a menu from Mama J’s that includes catfish nuggets, wingettes, mac and cheese, collard greens, candied yams, seafood salad, corn muffins squares and peach cobbler. Event starts at 11 a.m.

The whole family will love the cornhole boards, indoor games for all ages, open play on all arcade games, chalk, bubbles and more.  There will be live music from Elana Lisa and True Tonic. Complimentary goldfish crackers, juice boxes, and fruit snacks are provided for the little ones, in addition to coloring sheets. Strangways is located at 2277 Dabney Rd, Richmond.

The Veil Brewing Co. is hosting a Mother’s Day Nail Jam, from noon to 5 p.m. There will be free nail art/manicures for moms (first come, first serve; tips appreciated) from “some of the best nail techs/artists” in Richmond. There will be a DJ and food/dessert trucks will be around as well. The Veil is located at 1301 W. Roseneath Road.

If your brewery has added a Mother’s Day event, please submit an email to the newsroom.
