Shave-a-thon raises money for childhood cancer research

RICHMOND, Va. -- The Church Hill Irish Festival was in full swing Saturday afternoon and the annual shave- a-thon took place and raised more than $100,000.

CBS 6 anchor Greg McQuade was emcee for the annual St. Baldrick’s event.

Over 24 hairdressers volunteered to shave the nearly 85 men, women and teens to raise money for lifesaving research for childhood cancer.

The Church Hill Irish Festival will continues Sunday until 6 p.m.
