RICHMOND, Va. -- After 22 years of creating custom cakes for events and weddings in Central Virginia, Cakes by Graham is closing its doors.

Graham Haddock, the man behind the business said the decision was made because his hands have started to tremble while he works. He said it started about a year ago.

“I have tried to overcome the issue with stubborn determination, but do not want it to get to the point where it negatively affect my business,” Graham said in a Facebook post.

Graham posted that a few year ago, he noticed something with his right hand and arm that was affecting him while he piped frosting onto his cakes.

Doctors say his condition is called "task specific tremors," meaning it only seems to happen when he's decorating cakes.

As of December 4, 2015, Cakes by Graham will no longer create custom cakes for special occasions. However, he will continue to create wedding cakes through June 30, 2016.

Graham ended the Facebook post with this message:

"It is with a sad heart that I know I have made cakes for your birthdays, weddings and anniversaries and will not be able to make them anymore. Thank you for a wonderfully, rewarding 22 years. Graham."
