ATLANTA — An investigation is underway to determine if an Atlanta Craigslist ad to sell an unborn baby for drugs is a hoax.

Authorities have received more than 100 calls about the shocking ad, according to WSB in Atlanta.

In the ad, a woman claims to be pregnant but says she does not want the baby.

“6 months pregnant, don’t want it. Willing to trade it for $ or drugs. Guaranteed white, so don’t come at me cheap, serious offers only.”

The post sparked immediate outrage online and quickly caught the attention of authorities.

“We have gotten a lot of tips, we’ve gotten tips from various sources and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children,” said Sherry Lang, a spokesperson for The Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

But Lang said authorities are also looking into whether the ad could be a prank.

GBI officials said that if the ad is a hoax, it is still unclear what, if anything, the person who posted the ad could be charged with.
