Kindergarten Registration Day will help you and your child get ‘school ready’

RICHMOND, Va - Jacque Hale, Director of Smart Beginnings at United Way, brought along her daughter Shaia to talk about how important it is to start your children’s education off on the right foot by being prepared for Kindergarten Registration Day. Children who are five years old by September 30th can start kindergarten in the fall, but first they need to be registered. Smart Beginnings works to reach more parents about the kindergarten registration date and help more parents understand what school readiness is. Kindergarten Registration Day is Thursday, April 16th.
