Engagement announcement gets attention as couple ‘has it their way’

NEW BERLIN, Ill. — People around the world are laughing at the name on an Illinois couple’s engagement announcement.

Joel Burger is marrying Ashley King in July, making it the Burger-King wedding.

The couple, who were friends in high school and started dating in college, told WGN they’ve embraced the jokes about their “whopper” of a name and won’t let any annoyances “ketchup” with them.

To prove it, they broke tradition and put his name first on the engagement announcement.
