According to multiple media reports, the Washington Redskins have acquired veteran safety Dashon Goldson from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Per Albert Breer of NFL.com, the deal cost the Redskins a 2016 sixth-round pick in exchange for Goldson and a Buccaneers 2016 seventh-round pick.

Goldson, 30 was a two-time Pro Bowler with the San Francisco 49ers in 2011 and 2012. In 2013, Goldson signed a five-year, 41 million dollar contract with the Buccaneers.

Goldson went to Twitter to thank his former team and share his excitement to join the Redskins.

With the Goldson acquisition, the Redskins have continued to re-build their secondary along with the off-season signings of safety Jeron Johnson and cornerback Chris Culliver.
