Dad finds murder-for-hire contract on entire family in teen son’s bedroom

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — A 14-year-old boy has been arrested for allegedly trying to hire a friend to kill his family. WPBF reports the teen’s father found the murder-for-hire contract in his bedroom. It was signed by both his son and his son’s friend. The contract stated that the friend would kill the teen’s dad, step-mother and step-brother for $1,200. The teen told police his family would be shot in a “burglary gone bad scenario.”

Police said the teen planned to be in his bedroom during the murders and would call 911 from a neighbor’s house. The friend who signed the contract reportedly told police he thought it was all a joke and never planned to carry out the plan. He currently does not face charges.

The New York Daily News reports the suspect had been depressed and recently got in trouble for his grades. He’s being held on a charge of solicitation to commit first-degree murder.
