RICHMOND, Va. -- On WTOP radio Wednesday, and with another storm on the way, Governor Terry McAuliffe told listeners this snow season has been challenging for the state's snow budget. "We had about $150 million in the budget we have already gone through that. It is very expensive to do this, I think it is two million dollars an hour," McAuliffe said.
However, Richmond VDOT spokesman Jessica Cowardin told CBS 6 that operations in the Richmond region will not be impacted and that money is still left in Richmond's portion of the budget.
"Here in the Richmond region we are good to go," Cowardin said. "We are in emergency operations mode right now so that means all hands are on deck."
VDOT has already begun pre-treating roads ahead of this storm and is asking drivers to not park cars in the street.
"We are asking people to help us help them too, so our trucks can get through neighborhoods," Cowardin said.
