RICHMOND, Va. -- The United States Postal Service is getting caught up on it's delayed deliveries after this week's winter snowstorm.
Tuesday, mail carriers faced big challenges as the snow blanketed the area.
One CBS 6 viewer contacted us and said she was disheartened that her mail did not arrive at her home until Thursday.
She lives in the city's east end. We contacted the Richmond Postmaster General to ask about the delays in her neighborhood.
He says that there were delays in some areas because customers did not completely clear their walkways so that carriers could drop off the mail safely.
Postmaster Howard O'Connor says when they encountered some icy road areas, they contacted the city of Richmond so that they could come out and pour more salt and sand.
He said, as of Friday, they were pretty much caught up with all of their mail deliveries.
