RICHMOND, Va - Dr. Harpreet Grewal, Electrophysiologist at Bon Secours Heart & Vascular Institute, visited the studio to give us some insight on Atrial Fibrillation, the most common arrhythmia which affects more than 2.5 million American adults. It is characterized by a rapid and irregular heartbeat caused when the top chambers of the heart quiver erratically. While medication was the standard treatment for years, additional treatment options are now available, including minimally invasive ablation procedures.
