FARGO, ND – Residents are on edge after hundreds of jackrabbits have taken over a park in Fargo, North Dakota.
WDAY reportsfolks said the animals have been destroying plants and are leaving their droppings everywhere.
“It’s been about three months of them,” said Kayla Straabe, who owns a home near where the rabbits have taken up residence. “Right away I thought they were really cute, and now they’re becoming a big nuisance. And every day I wake up and I open up the windows to see how many rabbits there are in my yard. And there’s at least 40 to 50 every day.”
Some neighbors, who have complained to the city, said they suggested poisoning the animals. But since the animals live close to a dog park, some had second thoughts and worried it could be dangerous.
Fargo police said they cannot do anything about the situation because the animals are wild.
