Investigators think deadly Roanoke fire was arson

ROANOKE, Va. -- A person has been killed after a house fire in southwest Virginia that investigators believe was intentionally set.

WDBJ reports that the blaze broke out Saturday morning in Roanoke.

When firefighters arrived just before 8 a.m. they found heavy smoke and flames shooting from the structure.

There are still a lot of unanswered questions, including the identity of the person who died.

WDBJ reported that people who work at a nearby business said they had spotted homeless people coming in and out of the house.

Investigators are asking anyone in that area who may have information about what happened to call the Fire Marshal’s Office at 540-853-2795.
