HENRICO COUNTY, Va. – A Cooper’s hawk flew into the Glen Allen Michaels Arts & Crafts store on West Broad Street Friday, chasing a songbird for its dinner.
“It’s pretty crazy,” Michael’s shopper Leonor Lutson said.
The store closed its doors so wildlife experts could attempt to remove the hawk, unfortunately they were unsuccessful.
Saturday morning the store opened with the hawk still inside.
Wildlife experts were finally able to remove the hawk from the store Saturday evening.
The hawk is currently in the custody of The Richmond Wildlife Center.
