After nearly 35 years of performing to standing room only houses in Richmond, Desiree Roots has finally released her first CD. She has opened for B. B. King, Shirley Horn, Art Porter, Kenny Garrett and many others and performed a one woman shows. The actress/singer and now songwriter mesmerizes audiences with her rich, sultry voice and her ability to sing everything – European classical music, Gospel, Broadway, R&B, Negro Spirituals, and Jazz. She has assembled an array of talented musicians who support her including her 11-year-old son on an eclectic mix of Jazz standards, contemporary favorites and her original, “Don’t Ever Stop Dreaming”.
