HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- A special workshop for fathers, grandfathers, uncles and other adult male role models is scheduled to take place Thursday.
The Man-Up Fatherhood initiative is holding a workshop to help harmonize school rules with home rules.
The group said sometimes rules for children at school are unlike rules at home. Organizers with the group said the differences can be confusing and frustrating.
"If they don't have that balance more than likely to be not successful, the research shows that," Co-chair Darryl Williams said. "You can pull up any research out there and it all says the same thing, you need that balance; you need to have men in children's lives."
Today's workshop is from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Ratcliffe Elementary School.
