GREENWOOD, South Carolina — A South Carolina man is accused of shooting his 15-year-old son after he got into a fight with his mom over the television remote, Greenwood County Sheriff’s deputies told WHNS. The wounded boy ran next door to get help and call 911 about 7:20 p.m. on Monday.
Deputies spoke with the teen who said he and his mom had been arguing when she began to hit him.
A few minutes later his dad, 61-year-old George Willis, came upstairs and fired his laser-sight Glock pistol at him, hitting him in the leg, according to the deputy’s report. Willis ordered his son out of the house, which is when he ran next door, the report stated.
Deputies said several other shots were fired according to the call made to dispatch.
Willis was taken into custody and charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to the report.
