Richmond: Lace up and walk or run in the 4th Annual Jeffrey Reed Memorial Fund 5K, at L.C. Bird High School Saturday, October 11. The walk benefits Veterans in need and this year proceeds will be donated to Habitat for heroes.
The Walk is also in honor of Jeffrey Reed, a 2004 graduate of L.C. Bird who was killed in Iraq March 2nd 2009. From a scholarship fund to a 5K, the walk is growing which means more help for veterans. The event is a family fun day with face painting, a corn hole tournament, music and special guest MC Tony Booth from Big Oldies 107.3.
Registration is on-line http://www.jeffreedmemorial.org, if you can't register on-line than in person Saturday between 8 -9 am, the 5K walk starts promptly at 10am followed by the 1 mile. Registration fee is $25. For more information visitwww.jeffreedmemorial.org.
