Police: Richmond robbery victim drives into ditch after being shot

RICHMOND, Va. — Richmond Police are investigating a shooting that happened after 10 p.m. Tuesday night, police confirmed.

Police responded to the 3000 block of Lynhaven and Summer Hill Avenues.

A 29-year-old black male was sitting in his car on Summer Hill Avenue, when he was approached by two black males.

One displayed a weapon and demanded money, then shot him in the right side, said Richmond Police Capt. Yvonne Crowder. The victim then backed his car into a ditch.

The car overturned. The victim was transported to VCU Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
