The cold front that pushed through early Saturday allowed the coldest air mass since mid-April to move into the area Sunday morning. Clear skies, very dry air and light winds were a perfect combination to produce widespread lows in the 30s and 40s–temperatures that are more typical for mid-November.
Sunday afternoon high temperatures will be in the low to mid 60s. The normal high for this point of the month is in the lower 70s.
This shot of chilly air will not last very long. Southwesterly winds will bring slightly warmer temperatures in for Monday morning. Highs Monday will reach the mid to upper 70s in most locations. Lows at night will be in the 50s.
The warming trend will continue through Friday with highs getting back into the upper 70s and lower 80s.
