CHARLOTTESVILLE (WTVR) – After two years of their realignment plan for high school sports, the VHSL promised to review their lineup of schools and make changes based on fluctuation of student population.
On Wednesday, the VHSL’s executive committee approved the new realignment plan, which can be viewed in it’s entirety on their website http://www.vhsl.org.
Some of the area school’s affected are:
Varina moves down from 6A Conference 3 to 5A Conference 12
Highland Springs switches from Conference 11 to Conference 12
Midlothian, Monacan and Powhatan move to Conference 20
Manchester and Clover Hill move up to 6A, Conference 3
Atlee switches from 5A South to 5A North, Conference 16
J.R. Tucker and Glen Allen move up from 4A to 5A, Conference 11
John Marshall wins appeal to stay in 3A. They were slated to move down to 2A
