Atlanta, GA — An off-duty Atlanta Rescue firefighter is in the hospital recovering after being shot by Atlanta police.
The shooting happened Sunday just after 8 p.m. near the 300 block of Clifford Avenue.
Police said officers received a call about a man pointing a gun at someone. When officers arrived at the scene, the situation escalated, and the officer shot a man, according to police.
The man was shot once in the shoulder and taken to a local hospital in stable condition, police said.
Police also said a gun was recovered at the scene.
Officials said charges are pending against the firefighter, and the case is still under investigation.
