NEW KENT COUNTY, Va.  - Firefighters in New Kent are investigating an early morning fire that injured one person. The fire started at around 5 a.m. Wednesday inside a mobile home on Dispatch Road in Quinton.

When firefighters arrived the trailer was completely engulfed in flames, an official with the Quinton Fire Department said. It took crews 30 minutes to get the fire under control. The mobile home is a total loss, as investigators said it was left bare-boned by the blaze.

Two adults, three children and two dogs managed to escape the burning home. One person suffered minor burns and was treated at the scene, after refusing to go to the hospital.

The Red Cross is now helping the family left homeless.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
