SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Police have taken a man into custody after he allegedly ran over a woman during a Comic-Con zombie walk Saturday morning.
Onlookers cheered as police put a man accused of plowing through a crowd into a squad car.
San Diego police said the man was with his deaf family in their car waiting for the walkers to go by.
They say he waited several minutes and then rolled through because his small children were afraid of the crowd.
According to police, several people surrounded the car and started punching it, causing the father to drive forward again.
That’s when a 64-year-old woman was struck and fell under the car.
A police statement said the crowd chased the family, which drove toward officers.
The injured woman was taken to a n area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
