Las Vegas mall shooting leaves one person hit, shoppers scrambling for cover

LAS VEGAS, Nv. -- At least one person is hurt after a shooting at a Las Vegas shopping mall Tuesday evening. Police said after the gunman opened fire shoppers were also left looking for cover. But this morning the alleged shooter is waking up behind bars.

Details of the shooting are still coming in, but according to recent reports police said the violent attack is believed to have stemmed from a fight that started inside the food court at the Fashion Show Mall. It happened around 6:00 p.m. Las Vegas time when the high-end mall was likely packed with shoppers.

Investigators said the shooting may have been gang related. Following the incident many of the stores did close early.

The victim did survive being shot in the neck. So far the name of the shooting suspect has not been released.

No other injuries were reported.
