Cajun Shrimp & Cheese Grits
1 LB 16/20 Shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 LB Browned Smoked Sausage, sliced on the diagonal (1/2 inch)
1 TBSP BHK Blackening Seasoning
1 TBSP Garlic Powder
2 TSP Black Pepper
1 TSP Dried Thyme
1 TSP Paprika
¼ LB Butter
2 TSP Canola Oil
2 Chopped Stalks of Celery
1 Diced and Seeded Jalapeno
1 Bell Pepper, Diced
1 Small Red Onion, Diced
3 Cloves Garlic, Minced
2 Cups BHK Grits
- Season Shrimp with spices and set aside
- In a large pan, add butter and canola oil over med/high heat
- Add all vegetables except garlic
- Sauté for 5 minutes
- Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute
- Add sausage and cook for 1 minute
- Add shrimp and cook for an additional 3 minutes until no longer pink
- Serve over grits
