Osborne Turnpike back open after crash into utility pole

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - Osborne Turnpike from Bickerstaff Road to the Richmond city line is closed due to an overnight accident, Henrico Police reported Saturday morning.

According to police, a 19-year-old hit a utility pole near Stancraft way and Osborne Turnpike.

The driver is  being charged with drunk driving and under-age possession of alcohol.

"Dominion Power is on site and making emergency repairs," Henrico Police Lt. Ken Sperry wrote in an email. "Motorists are encouraged to use Darbytown Road as an alternative route."

No timetable was given for when the road would reopen.
