RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR)--A Richmond man has been arrested and charged with kidnapping his mother.
He transported her over state lines.
South Carolina troopers tell CBS 6 that 20-year old Regelio Lopez abducted his mother in Richmond around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
His car was spotted at a rest stop in Orangeburg about five hours later.
When they searched the car, they found his mother in the trunk.
Her injuries were not life-threatening.
On Wednesday, sources told CBS 6's Chelsea Rarrick that Lopez's mother was back home and doing well.
When CBS 6 went to Lopez's home a woman answered saying she was the victim's sister, but did not have a comment on the arrest.
Richmond police confirm that Lopez has been charged with abduction.
