RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR): After almost three decades of being closed to the public, the Historic Beacon Theatre in Hopewell is having a grand opening to celebrate what was once the heart and soul of the City of Hopewell.
The Beacon Theatre’s official grand opening is Thursday, February 20th with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:30am and later a concert featuring Delbert McClinton (sold out) Thursday, February 20; Vanilla Ice Friday, February 21, and the Blind Boys of Alabama Sunday, February 23, doors will open at 6pm, music starts at 6:30pm.
Other performers include Robert Randolph and the Family Band Thursday, March 13; An Evening with the Temptations Saturday, April 12 and Clint Black Saturday, April 26, doors open 6pm, music starts at 6:30.
