COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WTVR) — A husband and wife from Prince George have been arrested for robbing a bank on Christmas Eve.

Colonial Heights police said that officers were dispatched around 1:20 p.m. to the EVB bank in the 3000 block of Boulevard for a robbery call.

Bank employees said a short white male with a medium build wearing a dark grey hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a black scarf wrapped around the lower half of his face walked into the bank and demanded money.

The suspect got a way with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen getting into a silver Pontiac G6 that headed west on Lakeview Ave.

An officer in the area spotted a vehicle matching that description being driven by a white female just outside the city on Lakeview Ave.

As a result, 40-year-old Eric Shelton and 39-year-old Angela C. Shelton of Prince George County were arrested and charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.

The couple are being held with no bond at the Riverside Regional Jail.
