Richmond Animal Care & Control (RAC&C) is the only open admission public shelter in the City of Richmond. RAC&C provides humane care for more than 4,400 stray, injured, lost, abused and relinquished pets a year. Their professional Animal Control staff investigates animal cruelty, enforces humane laws and issues pet licenses. Assistance is provided to city residents in need of pet lost and found services, low-cost spay/neuter resources and other humane services designed to help pet owners care for their beloved family members!
